Six for Sunday: April 29th 2018

Here I am again doing S4S! This weeks prompt is Favourite Books People Never Seem to Know About. So I get to throw recommendations at you all!! Yay!! One of my favourite things to do!!

The first book I’m going to scream about is The Space Between by Meg Grehan. If you were to dissect my heart you would find this book inside it. It’s written in verse and is about mental illness and f/f looooove.

The next book is Keep Going by Cara Compass. This book cured my book slump. Do you need any more encouragement to read it? Fine. It’s about the upcoming apocalypse and how one family reacts to that by doing a bucket list. It’s WONDERFUL. Bonus: asexuality is brought up!

Everyone’s a Aliebn When Ur a Aliebn Too by Jomny Sun is just a pure delight. It’s so heartwarming, cute, and sad but also funny! I absolutely loved it.

One that I cherish and adore is A Beginner’s Guide to Losing Your Mind by Emily Reynolds. It’s a book I wish would’ve been around years ago as it really helped me come to terms with certain mental health things. I’m so glad and grateful that it’s in my life now.

The Visitors by Simon Sylvester is amazing (let’s not talk about that ending though…) and contains selkies! This was a book I wasn’t expecting to think so highly of as it was just an impulse buy, but it still pops into my head over a year after reading it.

Another impulse buy that I still think about (I actually got this book and The Visitors at the same time, clearly I had a good book day) was The Twyning by Terence Blacker. I certainly wasn’t expecting it to be from the perspective of rats (yep, you read that correctly!) which did take me a little while to get used to but I loved it!

I gave all of these books 5 stars on Goodreads and I feel like none of them get the deserved recognition, so I hope you all go check them out! I didn’t list any new books here because I want people to take a chance on books they’ve probably missed out on so far!

Georgia 🙂
