On May 26th I made it my mission to reduce the size of my physical TBR. Here’s how it’s going so far!
I have read The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey.
This book had been on my TBR for literally the longest time. I loved the film but I’d had the book for so long my excitement had got lost. When I picked it up at last, I thought it’d be an ok read. Cassie annoyed me but since I sorta remembered what happens in the film I kept going. 50 pages in, I put the book down and didn’t return to it for a day. And when I did, boyyyyyy did I get hooked!
There was so much action and I loved it. I got through The 5th Wave so much quicker than I thought I would (with help from the short chapter lengths I’m sure) and it was really a thrilling read.
Something that I wasn’t too keen on was the narrative changes, there was no indication as to who was who and I had to work it out. Though it wasn’t hard, it did bug me. Throughout, I was unsure if I’d continue with the series since I rarely do & dislike when they go downhill, but I think I’ll at least give book 2 a try. Especially because of how The 5th Wave ended!
Phew. What a book.
