Last year I made a blog post (click here to view it) about some of my favourite books that involve mental health. This year I wanted to focus on books that help make me feel better.
I’ve mentioned these books so many times, but Bookshop Girl and Life’s a Beach by Chloe Coles are my go-to pick me ups. They’re easy to read and super lighthearted and never fail to help my mood improve.
Then there’s books like The Exact Opposite of Okay, and now A Girl Called Shameless too, by Laura Steven and The Burning by Laura Bates that while are hard hitting topics make me feel less alone and for that I’m so grateful. A Semi-Definitive List of Worst Nightmares by Krystal Sutherland is the best book I’ve read in regards to anxiety!
Usually when I’m not feeling good I struggle to read, so graphic novel Heartstopper by Alice Oseman is helpful for that, aswell as poetry book Graffiti by Savannah Brown.
Remember to look after your brain and try to be kind to yourself. Reach out for help if you need it. Don’t struggle on your own.
